Lillington – Brampton Remodelling Project

Our Challenge

We were tasked with transforming an entire home in Brampton. This was no small feat and required us to call on all of our areas of expertise from Design and Remodelling to Custom Cabinetry. Our first challenge was the kitchen. Although this was a large home the kitchen was disproportionately small. The dark stained oak cabinet doors and lowered ceiling made the space feel claustrophobic.

The

Morra Solution

We began by removing a wall to take advantage of an adjacent dining room that had fell into disuse. The lowered ceiling framing was removed so we could design extra tall cabinets for added storage and pizzazz Where we had the opportunity we installed drawer cabinets for ease of access to stored items. Oversized drawers were installed on each side of stove to accommodate taller containers and bottles. The stove had a custom hood fan cabinet built above it and finally a drawer style microwave was installed in the island to free up counter space. Quartz counters and backsplash added a touch of elegance. To add some colour, we installed the ceiling beams above the kitchen table.

Moving on to the laundry room which we designed with same style of cabinetry. We created a ton of storage space and we included two pullout laundry hamper cabinets. Beautiful quartz counters and backsplash were installed throughout.

We were ultimately asked to employ the same style of cabinetry to create a small basement entertainment centre, a television cabinet for the family room and a custom fireplace mantle that, because of its oversized proportions became a focal point in the living room.  For the mantle we carried over some design elements from the cabinetry but kept the design simple and let the size and weight of the mantle be its greatest feature.
